CANTON — Violet Rhinehart Cole, 69, passed away Sunday, Sept. 9, 2012, at Memorial Campus of Mission Hospitals.

A native of Haywood County, she was a daughter of the late Dewey and Elizabeth McDonald Rhinehart.  In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a brother, Melvin Rhinehart.  Violet enjoyed working in her flower garden and reading.

She is survived by her husband, of 48 years, Carroll Cole; three daughters, Stephanie Dalton, and her husband, David, of Preston, Maryland, Dawn Williams, and her husband, Earl, of Canton, and Shannon Cole, of Black Mountain; four sisters, Edith Nichols, Betty and Mirth Henson, all of Canton, and Barbara Wingrave, of Augusta, Georgia; two grandchildren, Ryan Dalton and Lauren Bradley; and her special buddy, her dog, Rufus.
