WAYNESVILLE — Virginia Evans, 91, passed away Wednesday, March 19, 2014 at the Brian Center.
A native of Winchester, Indiana, she was a prior resident of Toledo, Ohio, and had resided in Haywood County for the past 40 years. She was the daughter of the late Warren and Sara Buckmaster Holloway. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Grady “Bill” Evans, who died in 2002; a sister, Colleen Martin; and a brother, Bud Holloway. She was a member of Bethel Baptist Church and was a devoted Christian lady. Virginia was a self-employed seamstress for many years. Virginia was last employed with Curves, and enjoyed crafts, sewing, quilting and traveling with Squire Parson.
She is survived by a daughter, Alice Evans, of Waynesville; three sisters, Marilyn Gulley, of Florida; Bonnie Copenhaver, of Michigan, and Alice Milligan, of Arizona; and several nieces and nephews.
A memorial service will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, March 22, at Bethel Baptist Church with the Rev. Dr. Roy Kilby officiating. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the church.
