Vivian M. Rhinehart
CANTON — Vivian McDowell Rhinehart, 90, passed away Thursday, March 28, 2013, at her residence.
A native of Gordon, Georgia, and resident of Haywood County for most of her life, she was the daughter of the late L. C. and Berta McCook McDowell. She was also preceded in death by her husband, Jefferson McKay Rhinehart, who died in 1998, and three brothers, Wayne, Ray and Marvin McDowell. She was a member of Morning Star United Methodist Church, where she was a choir member for many years and served as director of Bible school. She was the matriarch of the McDowell Family.
She is survived by a daughter, Kathy Rhinehart Peek, and her husband, Bob, of Snellville, Georgia; Michael McKay Rhinehart, and his wife, Sharon, of Canton; a sister, Patricia Lowe, of Akron, Ohio; three brothers, L. L. “Buddy” McDowell, of Canton, Neal McDowell, of Killen, Alabama, and Joe Bob McDowell, of Waynesville; seven grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren. A special recognition and thank you goes to her home caregiver for the past four years, Linda Follett.
Funeral services will be held at 3 p.m. Sunday, March 31, in the Canton Chapel of Wells Funeral Home with the Revs. Ken Lowe and David Ortigoza officiating. The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. Saturday at the funeral home. Interment service will be held at 11 a.m. Monday at Crawford/Ray Memorial Gardens.
