(Waynesville NC) Jay DeLancy of Voter Integrity Project NC – will discuss the North Carolina Voter ID Bill moving through the NC Senate and already passed by the NC House. He will inform the attendees that it is not enough. According to DeLancy, more must be done to create the environment we all deserve in our election process.
Thursday, May 30th @ 6:00 pm in the NC Agriculture Cooperative Extension located at 589 Raccoon Rd Waynesville, NC 28786.
This non-partisan issue affects all voters. “Fraud Free Elections” are essential to a Representative Republic. DeLancy has an interesting story to tell.
Jay DeLancy was born and reared in Raleigh, NC, He spent more than 25 years away from the state while in military, starting at the rank of an Army Private; he retired 32 years later as an Air Force Lieutenant Colonel. He launched the Voter Integrity Project of North Carolina in early 2011 to empower citizens who are interested in reforming the state’s antiquated election laws through careful research and lobbying efforts.
The Voter Integrity Project’s first big splash came in April 2012, as they challenged 530 non-US citizens on Wake County’s voter rolls. A week later, officials quietly removed 11 from the rolls and turned their names over ICE all while never admitting that any non-US citizens are on the voter rolls in NC.
In August 2012, the work of Voter Integrity Project-NC earned coverage in both World Magazine and the New York Times after the group discovered almost 30,000 deceased people who were still on North Carolina’s voter rolls. This effort earned local, national and international positive media attention and a studio appearance on the Fox News Channel’s Fox and Friends program.
Two weeks later, Media Matters, the website funded by George Soros, opened an account on the VIP-NC. Within 24 hours, the Left attacked. MSNBC’s Rachel Maddow opened her prime-time show with a 20-minute smear piece.
In February 2013, they initiated a joint investigation with the Florida Secretary of State and the NC State Board of Elections that resulted in another Fox News appearance and five NC voters being referred to their local District Attorney for prosecution for the felony crime of voting twice in the November 2012 election.
Their ongoing research into illegal voting patterns and other suspicious electoral practices has drawn attention from the NC General Assembly as they work to reform the state’s fraud-friendly election laws.
So, if fraud free elections are important to you – please come learn of the efforts being made in North Carolina. The legislators in Raleigh have begun the process. There is room for improvement.
When groups such as ‘Blue Print North Carolina’, a partnership of over 40 progressive (liberal) state-level nonprofits housed at the NC Justice Center – targets legislation such as Voter ID in Raleigh – it becomes increasingly difficult for a full and robust discussion of the real issues to take place. Since the stated goal of Blue Print NC’s two-year plan is to “Eviscerate, Mitigate, Litigate, Cogitate, and Agitate,” as their memo outlines in a strategy to target Republicans. The legislators in Raleigh become more concerned with being taken to court, than in passing good legislation.
To counter the efforts of progressive groups such as Blue Print - The Haywood County 9-12 TEA Party will be hosting a series of educational forums including Robert Levy, chairman of the Cato Institute’s board of directors and author of the “Dirty Dozen”. Also scheduled this summer will be spokes person from the NRA (National Rifle Association) in defense of our rights to bear arms under the 2nd amendment of the Constitution and a forum on Alternatives to the Affordable Health Care Problem known as Obamacare.
Thursday May 30th @ 6 PM at the NC Agriculture Cooperative Extension located at 589 Raccoon Rd Waynesville, NC 28786. For more info: contact email@example.com . Come meet Jay DeLancy and help eliminate the ‘fraud friendly’ election laws. ###
