Loving Husband, Father, Grandfather
CANTON — Wade Williams, 65, of Raby Street, passed away Tuesday, March 18, 2014.
Wade was a native of Buncombe County and had resided most of his life in Haywood County. He was the son of the late Namon Williams and Pheobee Surrett Williams. He was also preceded in death by his brothers, Bob and Billy Williams, and his uncle, Carl Surrett.
Wade was a devoted employee of Asplundh Tree Company. He truly loved the outdoors and was an avid hunter and fisherman. He attended Beulah Baptist Church. Wade will always be remembered for being a loving husband, father and grandfather. His memory will be deeply cherished forever.
He is survived by his wife of 46 years, Betty Gibson Williams, of Canton; a daughter, Becky Burgess, and her husband, Rickey Burgess, of Canton; sons, James Williams, of Canton, and Tony Williams, and his wife, Pam Williams, of Canton; brothers, Tom Williams, Wayne Williams, Carroll Williams, Reed Williams and Ted Williams; grandchildren, Ricky, Robert, Lindsey, Austin, Kelsey, Jamie, Bailey and Carly; and great-grandchildren, Hunter, Ryan, Ainsley, Luke and Riley; and a host of many friends.
Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Sunday, March 23, in the chapel of Crawford/Ray Funeral Home. The Rev. Ronald Greene will be officiating. The family will be receiving friends from 6 to 8:00 p.m. Saturday night at the funeral home. Burial will be in Clarks Chapel Cemetery.
