Loving Father and Grandfather

WAYNESVILLE — Walter W. Mehaffey, Sr., 97, passed away on Tuesday, Dec. 25, 2012.

He was a native of Waynesville, NC where he lived for most of his life. He worked in the Curved Hose Department at Dayco Corporation in Hazelwood. Upon retirement, he spent many of his senior years farming in Haywood County. Since 2005, Walter resided in Virginia in the home of his son or at Consulate Health Care of Windsor.

Mr. Mehaffey is the son of the late Paul and Minnie Sutton Mehaffey. Preceding him in rest are his first wife, Hazel Cagle Mehaffey; his second wife, Blanche Parton Mehaffey, and his infant son, William Robert Mehaffey.  Surviving members of his family include his son, Walter W.
