Loving Husband, Father,Grandfather

CANTON — Wayne Doyle Warren, 85, of Howards Hollow Road, entered into his Heavenly home Friday, Jan. 3, 2014.

Mr. Warren was born June 18, 1928 to the late Alonzo Warren and the late Cora West Warren. He had resided in Haywood County most of his life and was a United States Air Force Veteran. Mr. Warren retired from Champion International with 45 years of dedicated service and was a Champion Old Timer. He was a devoted member of Crestview Baptist Church where he had served as a Sunday school teacher and had also taught Sunday school at Pigeon Valley Rest Home for many years. Mr. Warren truly loved people, never met a stranger and his warm smile touched many hearts. His precious memory shall be cherished forever by his family and many friends.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a great-grandson, Andres Alexander Hoskinson.

Surviving are his loving wife of 63 years, Reba Metcalf Warren; his sons, Eric Douglas Warren and his wife, Regina Warren of St. George, SC, Alan Dean Warren and his wife, Jane Warren of Spartanburg, SC, Stephen David Warren of the Bethel Community and Michael Dale Warren and Kathy Warren both of Canton; grandchildren, Bryan Douglas Warren and Amy, Brandi Leigh Moore and Ronnie, Molly Hoskinson, Eli Warren and Julie and Josey Warren; great-grandchildren, Dakota Warren, Cheyenne Warren, Caitlin Warren, Erica Warren, Hannah Hoskinson and Miles Hoskinson; a sister, Helen Davis of Balsam; his brothers, Fred Warren and his wife, Jennie Warren of Houston, Texas and Charles Warren and his wife, Margaret Warren of Pisgah Forest; “Special” grandchildren, Dino, Erika, Ismael and Susana Ramirez; numerous nieces, nephews, great nieces and great nephews

The Warren family would like to extend a special word of thanks to Ronnie West for all of his kindness and help that he gave to Wayne and Reba before Wayne entered into the nursing home.

The funeral service was held at 3 p.m. Sunday, Jan. 5, 2014 at Crestview Baptist Church. Officiating were Mr. Warren’s son, The Revs. Doug Warren and Ned Webb. The family received friends at the church one hour prior to the funeral service. Burial was in Inman Chapel Cemetery. Serving as pallbearers were Stanley Metcalf, Greg Metcalf, Eddie Beck, Terry Mashburn, Michael Mashburn, Tommy Erwin, Brook Shephard, Terry Mease, Larry Frizzell, Ed Warren and Mark Long.
