Waynesville featured in October issue of 'Our State'

Oct 02, 2012

The town of Waynesville was named the Tar Heel Town in the October issue of Our State magazine. The “Tar Heel Town” is a regularly appearing section that is much anticipated by readers. In addition readers can explore 5 Things Not to Miss in Waynesville in an exclusive Our State video at  www.ourstate.com/videos/waynesville-5-things-not-to-miss.

"Waynesville is more than a gateway to the outdoors. It is a regional locus for southern Appalachian arts and crafts. Excellent farm-to-table restaurants and bed-and-breakfast inns make it a haven for getaways. It is a high-spirited place, celebrating everything from art to apples with festivals and street fairs throughout the year,” writes Parke Puterbaugh in the October issue of Our State magazine.

“And its Main Street is exactly that: a central place to congregate and a walkable strip filled with interesting shops, many of which are stocked with local arts and crafts,” writes Puterbaugh.
