Waynesville Public Art Commission issues call for artists

The Waynesville Public Art Commission is currently seeking an artist for its fourth outdoor public art project, to be located in the mini park at the corner of Main and Depot streets. The theme of the piece is "Wildflowers of the Smokies," to honor the historic connection between the Great Smoky Mountains National Park and the town of Waynesville.

The call open to all professional artists, or teams of artists, over the age of 18, residing in the 25 North Carolina counties that comprise the Blue Ridge National Heritage Area: Alleghany, Ashe, Avery, Buncombe, Burke, Caldwell, Cherokee, Clay, Graham, Haywood, Henderson, Jackson, Macon, Madison, McDowell, Mitchell, Polk, Rutherford, Surry, Swain, Transylvania, Watauga, Wilkes, Yadkin and Yancey.
