WCU's Global Spotlight Series continues March 20

CULLOWHEE — Western Carolina University will host a Global Spotlight Series event focusing on “The Great Powers” from 4 to 5:30 p.m. Monday, March 20, in Room 101 of the Forsyth Building, 104 Centennial Drive, Cullowhee.

The forum is free and open to the public. The topics and WCU faculty speaking are listed as:

— “Restoring Superpower Status in the 21st Century: Russia’s Ambitions in the Putin Era” by Ingrid Bego, assistant professor, Political Science and Public Affairs Department

— “Holding the Line? Germany and Europe in a Disordered World” by David Dorondo, associate professor, Department of History

— “China, a Challenger to U.S. Primacy?” by Charles Fagan, adjunct faculty member in the Political Science and Public Affairs Department

— “Worst Deal Ever” by Niall Michelsen, associate professor, Political Science and Public Affairs Department
