GREENVILLE, SOUTH CAROLINA — Weaver McConnell “Mac” Patton Jr., 74, passed away March 7, 2013, at Diamond Healthcare of Simpsonville, South Carolina. He was born Nov. 24, 1938, to the late Weaver McConnell Patton Sr. and Kathryn Sexton Patton, of Canton. “Mac” grew up on the Patton farm, Old Clyde Highway, in Canton. He attended Patton Elementary School, Canton High School, and Mars Hill College, where he received an associate’s degree. He was a disabled U.S. Army veteran and a lifetime member of the Disabled American Veterans, American Legion and VFW. He was a member of the Episcopal church.
In addition to his parents, “Mac” was preceded in death by his sisters, Jincie Patton Cable and Nina Lynn Patton. He is survived by his brother-in-law, Glenn F. Cable, of Mauldin, South Carolina; nieces, Janet Cable, Hendley of Rock Hill, South Carolina, and Virginia Susan Cable of Taylors, South Carolina.
To honor his request, a family graveside memorial will be held at the Patton family cemetery for immediate family. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the American Cancer Society.
The Cremation Society of South Carolina handled arrangements.
