ENKA — An amazing 33 triples were made in the 65th Annual Blue-White All-Star boys basketball game Saturday evening as the Blue senior stars earned a 123-101 victory over the White senior stars.
Two local standouts were on the White team and both finished in double figures as Tuscola’s Anthony Westhusing finished with 17 points and Pisgah’s Trey Morgan chipped in 10.
The game remained tight throughout the first two quarters as the Blue stars held a 58-55 lead at the half before pulling away by outscoring the White stars, 65-46, in the second half.
Owen’s Brian Bartlett, who scored 17 points for the Blue stars, was named the all-star game’s most valuable player.
In the 41st Annual Blue-White All-Star girls basketball game the White stars defeated the Blue stars, 79-66.
Despite scoring just one point, Pisgah’s Maddie Webb enjoyed her final prep basketball game and begins a new chapter in her life when she enrolls to play basketball at Mars Hill University.
“I’m just honored to be chosen for this game,” said Webb. “It was a great experience. I played with some girls who are also Mars Hill recruits. I really enjoyed that and playing against girls from local high schools that she has played travel ball with since fifth grade. There was an easy camaraderie among us.”
