A White Oak man who ran from police Tuesday is now in custody at the Haywood County Jail.

Donald Eugene Stiles Jr., 25, fled on foot when detectives arrived at his home at 24 Ball Drive near the White Oak community to serve child sex warrants.

He is accused of molesting a 6-year-old boy, who told authorities with the Department of Social Services of the sexual activity, said Det. James Marsh with the Haywood County Sheriff's Office.

After searching his home, detectives found a large amount of child pornography on his computer.

Deputies searched for Stiles throughout the night and into Thursday morning until he turned himself into authorities around noon, Marsh said.

He is charged with first degree sex offense with a child and indecent liberties with a child, both felonies. There are more charges forthcoming, Marsh said.
