Wind warning, advisory issued for Haywood CountyWinds up to 35 mph expected
The National Weather Service has placed Haywood County under a high wind warning alert until 1 p.m. Thursday.
Very windy conditions are expected across the western Carolinas and Northeast Georgia late this afternoon until Thursday morning, according to the NWS.
Because of the moist soil conditions, the service warns gusty winds may blow down trees and produce power outages across the area.
A high wind advisory remains in effect until 6 p.m. Wednesday and a warning until 1 p.m. Thursday.
The NWS urges drivers to use extra caution on the roads, as winds are expected to reach 35 mph.
