'Words can Kill’ video scholarship contest announced
The Melrose, Seago & Lay Law Firm announced the first Words Can Kill Viral Video Scholarship Contest. There will be two separate $1,500 scholarships awarded — one to a Haywood County high school senior, and one to a senior from Jackson County.
The recipient will receive this one-time scholarship payable to their college, university, or trade school of choice.
Eligible students will submit a short video or PowerPoint focused upon educating other young people about the dangers of texting and driving.
The attorneys at Melrose, Seago & Lay recognize the danger of distracted driving, and they believe this contest will help educate students that distracted driving can be even more dangerous than drunk driving.
