A Wonderful Mother
CANTON — Zenia Pearl Shultz Sutton, 88, of Old Henson Cove Road, entered into the arms of the angels Wednesday, Aug. 27, 2014.
Mrs. Sutton was born Oct. 21, 1925, in Cosby, Tennessee, to the late Aurthur Shultz and the late Myrtle Ramsey Shultz. She had made her home in Haywood County for the past 62 years and was a devoted homemaker. Zenia had dedicated her life to being a loving caregiver — especially to her son, Ronnie — and also caring for the entire family. Her faith was an important part of her life and she loved her Lord. Zenia enjoyed being outdoors and she was known for having a “green thumb” because her bountiful vegetable garden and her lovely flower garden were admired by everyone. She also enjoyed canning and her delicious homemade jelly was a favorite of family and friends. Zenia was a wonderful loving mother and she has touched many lives. Her memory remains in our hearts forever.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Raymond Sutton, who passed away in 2003; five sisters and two brothers.
Surviving are her daughter, Anita Parks and husband, Gene, of Waynesville; her sons, Raymond Sutton and wife, Lisa, of Canton, and Ronnie Sutton, of Canton; grandchildren, Julie Smith, Shannon Sutton and wife, Megan, Chad Evans and his wife, Megan, and Anna Mathis and husband, Andrew; and great-grandchildren, Kelly Smith and Samuel Sutton.
The Sutton family wishes to extend a special thanks to Amanda Lunsford and Sherry Moore for their love and concern given to Zenia.
The funeral service will be held at 1 p.m. Friday, Aug. 29, in the chapel of Crawford/Ray Funeral Home. The Rev. Zack Christy will officiate. Burial will follow in Bon-A-Venture Cemetery on Newfound Road. The family will be receiving friends at the funeral home one hour prior to the funeral service.
