	        The 2013 Region A Nursing Consortium Pinning Ceremony was held recently on the campus of Tri-County Community College. Haywood Community College students represented 34 of the 55 pins awarded this year. The ceremony included a candle-lighting with the graduates reciting the Nightingale Pledge. 	        Haywood Community College’s Natural Resources Division and the North Carolina Wildlife Resources Commission will offer a Boating Safety course from 6 to 9:30 p.m. June 10 and 11, in room 309 on the HCC campus. Participants must attend two consecutive evenings to receive their certification.

	        At Haywood Community College’s graduation ceremonies on May 9th and 10th, over forty Haywood County Schools Juniors and Seniors were awarded a total of fifty-seven certificates from Haywood Community College. Students will be awarded certificates in the areas of Criminal Justice Technology, Computer-Integrated Machining, Automotive Systems Technology, and Collision Repair and Refinishing Technology.

	        Haywood Community College’s Forestry Class of 1969 has established a scholarship fund for HCC Natural Resources students. The annual scholarship of $500 will be awarded in each fall semester. The first scholarship was awarded in the fall of 2012 to 2013 Fish and Wildlife graduate Amber Swicegood.

    <title>HCC Holds REAL Recognition Ceremony</title>

	        Haywood Community College recently held a REAL (Rural Entrepreneurship through Action Learning) Recognition Ceremony where students showed their completed business plans. Students that participate in the REAL program range from various programs of study such as business, cosmetic arts, or professional crafts.
