	        Time is running out for Haywood County veterans to register to participate in the Memorial Day Parade.
The Memorial Day Parade to honor veterans will be held at 11 a.m., Monday, May 28 in downtown Waynesville. 	        A Sunday evening fire near Cruso damaged a home off Burnette Cove.
Volunteer firefighters with the Cruso, Lake Logan and Center Pigeon fire departments responded to the call on Talon Lane, said Greg Shuping, the Haywood County Emergency Management Services director.
No injuries were reported, said Shuping, who monitored the activity via radio, but damage was extensive.

	        An accident on Radio Hill in Canton Friday about noon sent three people to the hospital, who have since been treated and released.
The accident occurred when Vickey Cagle, 48, who was driving a maroon SUV, turned left to go into Single Stop gas station and hit a 2011 white Mustang heading toward Clyde. Driving the Mustang was Stacy Campbell, 29, with Daniel Caldwell, 47, in the passenger seat.

	        On the third Friday of every month third, fourth and fifth graders can enjoy a dance social complete with pizza, drinks and plenty of room to dance to their favorite tunes. The first dance of spring semester was a success, attracting more kids than usual.
Parents must come inside and fill out a form when dropping children off. The fee is $5 per child.
